Child Abuse, Suicidal Behaviour and Prevention

Child abuse refers to non-accidental behavior by parents, caregivers, other adults or older adolescents which bring potential damage to the child's health and entails a substantial risk of causing physical or emotional harm to a child or young person. There are four types of child maltreatment: physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional, psychological abuse and neglect.

Suicidal behavior includes thoughts or ideas that revolve around suicide or death (suicidal ideation) through fatal completion of suicide.
